The Abyssinian was brought from Abyssinia by the British (although that may not be the actual country of origin), and became a recognized breed in 1882. Sleek, lithe and high spirited with dense, silky and lustrous, ticked coat. A long, tapering tail Elegant and regal. Large ears and almond shaped, lightly highlighted eyes of green or gold.. Its head is somewhere between round and wedge-shaped and, in profile, can resemble a cougar.
