The Spinone Italiano is a gun dog bred to hunt alongside its master in a non-flashy, efficient manner. The Spinone is also a dog that will bond closely with its family. It is excellent with children (may be too big for the very small), and great with other pets including non-canines. They should be socialized early to avoid shyness among strangers. Very loyal, and it expects the same loyalty in return. The Spinone should be boarded with the family and not in a kennel. They need moderate exercise and will do well in a fenced yard.
