The Saluki remains true to its history and will chase every fuzz ball and feathered friend in sight. A sleek and beautiful dog with great speed. Once it's lose you won't catch it, and it probably will not respond to a "come" command. It needs abundant exercise and a walk will not satisfy that need. A large, HIGH (5 feet or more) fenced yard is preferable. It is OK with older children but cannot withstand rough handling. This graceful dog demands to be a part of your life so be prepared to share your time. It is non-aggressive to other dogs, but don't expose it to dogs who may try to dominate. The Saluki is odor-less and easy to brush. When not moving it looks for comfort - your bed, couch, recliner, anything but a hard floor. Not recommended for apartments.

We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet store puppies may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.
