The Pointer is a proud and willful dog, and the confirmation dog is probably a better house pet than the field dog. Let the breeder, or rescue, know your intentions for the dog. Its a clean animal that is good with children and other pets. This is a country dog needing room to run and hunt. They won't tire and need almost daily stimulating exercise and play (or hunting) to have a happy and healthy life. Brush as needed to clear the coat of tangles or burrs.

We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet store puppies may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.
