A friendly, good-natured dog with stamina and courage. He has a mind of his own, can be very sensitive, and may not be the dog for everyone (please visit the Club's web site at http://clubs.akc.org/skye/ for more info). The Skye will bond firmly with it's owner, but it can take longer if you are adopting an adult. Nonetheless, once your Skye accepts you as 'his', their loyalty and affection will be boundless. The Skye will want to be the Alpha! Can be suspicious of strangers and could nip if handled without "his approval". A good apartment dog that can get all needed exercise indoors. When outdoors keep under leash control because they love to chase things. An average shedder.

We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet stores and Internet sellers may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.
