The Japanese Chin's (also known as the Japanese Spaniel) coat is long, straight and silky, and requires brushing a few times a week. While they may appear "cat-like" in nature they will adapt themselves to the family environment in which they live. The Chin is mild-mannered and loves people. They do well with children and other pets, but should be kept from harm's way when playing with smaller children or strangers. A great apartment dog that enjoys a daily walk and an ability to run in a confined outdoor setting.
