The Brussels Griffon

Toy

We'd love to put a picture of your Brussels Griffon in this spot - please E-mail us a photo.

The Brussels Griffon is the toy with the human expression, often "gruff" looking in contrast to their happy disposition. They love to be pampered and taken care of, and are easily spoiled. The Griffon can be difficult to housetrain, and they are determined barkers. They will usually get along with other house pets, and do better with older children. Watch their dietary intake - they can be prone to obesity. The Griffon needs little exercise and is perfect as an apartment dog. The rough haired Griffon will need at least a weekly brushing, more if it runs outside.

Book Suggestions

We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet store puppies may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.

If you would like help locating a breeder or rescue agency near you please E-Mail PGAA ( ita408@comcast.net), and let us know your city/state and the type of dog you are looking for. Do not assume that PGAA has qualified all of the breeders or rescues on this site. Do your own check of each breeder or rescue -- be sure that you are comfortable with the organization before you buy, adopt or turn-over a dog.
