The Border Terrier is a feisty little hunter and should be exercised on a daily basis. OK for an apartment as long as it gets a daily exercise and play time. Borders are good with children and canines (a male/female mix is better than 2 males), but should be socialized with any family cat. Not a good idea to include a hamster or other small mammal as a roommate. They enjoy interaction with a human family and do not like being left out or at home. Should be brushed on a weekly basis. A good allergy sufferer pet.
