"I own 4 mixed-breed dogs, 3 of which I keep penned. Can you tell me what the best bedding would be for a doghouse …would it be burlap, straw, or wood shavings? In addition, what is the quality equipment to use for grooming short-haired dogs?"

Answer:

For several reasons, it has been recommended that burlap be used for your doghouse instead of straw or wood shavings. I also recommend using a nylon-bristled brush - it is really the primary grooming tool you will need for a short-haired dog. Following brushing, simply rub your hands along the dog's coat to help stimulate his replacement oils.
